Abram Zinberg
Biography
Working to embody ideas lingering in the subconscious and unconscious of our
culture which are lost to our conscious minds, Abram Zinberg labors to create a
visual language through which we can reconnect to the root concepts of true love
and appreciation of the act of living. The initial emergence of this work began in
his career as a health care attorney and executive, where he steered his company
with the fundamental concept that taking the best care of the elderly was also the
best and most profitable approach for the business.

This approach led his company to be one of the leaders in its field, proving that respect for long life and its
experience does not come at the expense of a successful business.
Abram began collecting art early in his career, being particularly drawn to Asian and Indonesian art and African metalwork. He became increasingly fascinated by the stories of these pieces and the cultures that created them, finding in them a power and an interconnectedness with the fabric of existence that he feels our culture has lost sight of.
He began to try to communicate to those around him what he found in the objects of his collection, and found that most of his audience saw only tribal art, with no interest or understanding of the rich traditions
that underpinned the objects’ creation.
Then came a great leap of intent. It was no longer enough just to steward his collection, protecting and exposing others to its beauty. He came to understand that he must also steward the ideas imbued in these works, and find a way to communicate them to a culture that had “grown” beyond the need for talismans and sacred objects. Abram was moved to become an artist.
He worked for several years to fully develop the initial concept and design before finally finding a partner who could help him bring his dream to fruition. In 2006, he began collaborating with Antoine Bonsorte.
